The Autism Medical & Research Summit (AMRS) — an international, multidisciplinary congress dedicated to high-support autism, a subgroup representing approximately 30% of the autistic population. Based on a global prevalence of 1%, this corresponds to an estimated 1.35 million individuals in the European Union and over 24 million worldwide who require substantial or very substantial daily support due to complex communication, cognitive, behavioral, and medical needs. Despite the scale of this population, it remains significantly underrepresented in research and underserved in clinical care.
AMRS is designed to bridge clinical reality and translational research, fostering structured dialogue among clinicians, researchers, and allied professionals on assessment, stratification, and integrated care models across the lifespan. The scientific program combines state-of-the-art lectures, thematic sessions, moderated discussions, oral and poster presentations, and Research Incubator Projects—a dedicated format to transform high-potential ideas into feasible, impactful collaborations.
With a special focus on emerging fields such as systems biology, multi-omics, neuro-immunology, genomics, and digital tools, AMRS aims to generate actionable knowledge, harmonize multidisciplinary approaches, and accelerate progress toward better health outcomes and care pathways for the most complex and underserved autistic individuals.
